The River Ranger is designed by Global Environment Centre as an educational and awareness programme. The programme emphasises on every aspect of freshwater ecosystems, including its biodiversity, values and benefit to mankind.
The programme aims to expand knowledge and awareness, in local environment management and conservation. The community will learn to appreciate and value water sources and the importance of sustaining it for future generations. The ultimate outcome of the River Ranger Programme will see the community being empowered to initiate and implement river basin audits, conservation projects, and resource management in their respective areas.
